10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Mark your calendars for the Annual Great Outdoor Adventure Day on Saturday, December 1, 2018, hosted by Lovers Key State Park. The community-based event will be located at the Kayak Launch/ Picnic Area of the park, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
This fun-filled day is geared towards encouraging participants toward responsible recreation while they enjoy the park’s unique habitats and wide variety of wildlife. There will be food, lots of children’s activities, and many Ranger-led programs.
Rangers and volunteers will offer opportunities to see the park via walking nature tours, bike tours (bike and helmets provided!), geo-caching, fishing clinics, and more! Guided Kayak Tours will be offered for $10 per person, which includes kayak rental. Young people – or young at heart – will want to pick up a Junior Ranger Activity Kit and start the self-guided program to earn a certificate, member card, and a Junior Ranger patch, badge, or pin!
Exhibitors will include local environmental organizations, as well as vendors for outdoor equipment and healthy lifestyles. Great Door Prizes will be given away throughout the event. Make sure to check out one of the exciting paddle boarding clinics for kids, beginners, and advanced paddlers.
The Great Outdoor Adventure Day is free with regular park entrance of $8 per vehicle for up to eight people, $4 for a single vehicle occupant, and $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist. Bring your family to Lovers Key State Park on Saturday, December 1, 2018 and discover why everyone is "Lovin’ it at Lovers Key!”
Please be prepared to be outdoors for the day. It is recommended to bring water, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and clothes that can get wet for the kayak tours.
