Manatee Painting Class

Class begins promptly at 9 a.m. in the Community Room at the Welcome and Discovery Center in Parking Lot #3. We recommend arriving an hour early to the park due to heavy traffic onto the island and into the main area of the park at this time of year.

Join Artist-in-Residence Jenny M. Licht for a Manatee Painting Class at Lovers Key State Park! With Jenny’s help, you’ll transform your blank canvas into one of Florida’s most iconic residents, the Florida manatee!

All materials provided: Gallery wrapped 11” x 14” canvas, use of brushes and apron, palette, easel, acrylic paint, paint cloths, sample and other supplies as well as step by step art guidance.

Students may draw their own manatee or use a provided template. Color choices, composition, paint application and techniques as well as other art topics are discussed during the class session. You’ll leave with a beautiful completed masterpiece ready to hang when you get home!
